CHOC Children's Foundation

Assistant Vice President, Individual Giving

THE ORGANIZATION

?

Overview

?

Since 1964, CHOC Children’s Health System has been committed to advancing and protecting the health and well-being of children through a regional pediatric healthcare network that includes a state-of-the-art 334-bed main hospital in Orange, CA and a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. What started as a 62-bed children’s hospital – the first in Orange County – has grown into a major pediatric health care system serving multiple counties, offering critical primary and specialty care clinics, over 100 additional programs and services, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence – The CHOC Children’s Heart, Neuroscience, Orthopedic and Hyundai Cancer Institutes.

?

Today, over two million children throughout Southern California count on CHOC to be there when they most need care regardless of their family’s ability to pay. CHOC’s rapid growth in size and community impact in the last ten years reflects its steadfast commitment to defining the future of pediatric medicine by enriching existing services as well as developing programs to benefit the families of Southern California.

?

The CHOC Children's Foundation provides resources and creates partnerships that support the mission of CHOC Children's. In FY 2018, the Foundation’s team of dedicated fundraisers and volunteers raised over $42M in support for the hospital and its programs. The Foundation is continuing its efforts to prepare for the launch of an ambitious fundraising campaign in 2019. The campaign will be the largest fundraising initiative ever undertaken by CHOC Children’s and will require significant strategic investments to expand the fundraising capacity of the Foundation.  To accommodate this growth, the Foundation will move into a new, technologically-advanced facility in December 2018. This space will provide opportunities to expand education and programming to advance CHOC Children’s mission and will include a Community Engagement Center to optimize relationships with CHOC’s dedicated supporters and partners.
