美国高中必读书目 1.0 版序言 ：

这个书单的书基本上都是美国高中的必读书目，但是删去了一些过于晦涩（比如 james joyce 的 Ulysses ）或者语言过于难懂（比如 Mark Twine 的 Adventure of Huckleberry Finn) 或者明显戴着有色眼镜看中国人的的

你只要看过了这书单所有的书 (81 本），就相当于在美国读了四年的高中英语（文学）课程，跟老美谈文学艺术的素材就全足够了

美国高中必读书目精简整理 2.0 版序言：

前天发过了书单以后，有正太反映书单过于长，不容易引起正太们的兴趣，也伤害了他们阅读的积极性，同时书的难易程度混杂，难以让不同阅读水平的同学们挑选适合自身阅读程度的书

于是决定在这81本书里面再挑出63本组成《美国高中英语文学核心读物》，并按照阅读的难易程度（文字本身的难度和理解的难度）分成入门级（相当于九年级）、初级（十年级）、中级（十一年级）、高级（十二年级）分成四个等级，每个等级里面再分成Classics（经典）、British Literature（英国文学）、 American Literature（美国文学）、International Literature（世界文学》四个类别，每个类别里都尽量含有各种文体（戏剧小说诗歌等）。

与美国高中阅读书单1.0版相比，主要是去掉了

1. 过于艰涩难懂的： 比如Woolf

2. 主题重复的：比如bradley的Mists of Avalon

3. 大神级作者不那么重要的作品：Dickens的Hard Times， Sophocles的Antigone, Ibsen的Heda Gabler

4. 对于大学生（毕竟本书单是开给大学生的）来说主题相对幼稚的：Frankenstein， Gulliver's Travels, Invisible Man

5. 已经失去了时代意义的： The Jungle

另外补充了

1. Gone with the Wind

2. Diary of a Young Girl

3. Daddy-Long-Legs

后两本相对幼稚，但是在主题和文体上有特色

对于比较有争议的几本，考虑到本书单的开给纯洁软乎正太的，最终还是决定排除在正式书单以外，比如Lawrence的Lady Chatterley's Lover以及Nabokov的Lolita

同学们既可以从易到难按顺序阅读，也可以直接按照自己的阅读水平选择适合自己的读物
