Richard Noel Marx (born September 16, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American adult contemporary and pop/rock singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer.

He had a string of hit singles in the late 1980s and 1990s, including "Endless Summer Nights", "Right Here Waiting", "Now and Forever", and "Hazard".

Although most of his major hit songs were slow ballads, many of his songs had a classic rock style, such as "Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better," "Satisfied," and "Too Late To Say Goodbye".

Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the US charts.

      Right Here Waiting For You – 我最喜欢的英文歌赏析之一

我个人认为这首歌可以称得上欧美情歌之最，有一段时间我几乎天天听她，百听不厌。每当我听到：无论你去哪里；无论你做什么；无论结果怎样；即使我的心都碎了，我都会在这里等你。。。我的眼泪都会掉下来，这是一种什么样的深情厚意，刻骨铭心呀！

我认为在中国的古典诗歌里也许只有：我欲与君相知， 长命无绝衰。山无陵， 江水为竭， 冬雷震震， 夏雨雪， 天地合， 乃敢与君绝！方可与之媲美。

而这首歌的中文译名《此情可待》我却不喜欢，我认为不够贴切。因为人们很容易想到它的出处是李商隐的《锦瑟》：锦瑟无端五十弦，一弦一柱思华年。 庄生晓梦迷蝴蝶，望帝春心托杜鹃。 沧海月明珠有泪，蓝田日暖玉生烟。 此情可待成追忆，只是当时已惘然。李商隐的诗是对一段逝去的感情的追忆。而在这首歌里作者还是希望他们能够最后修成正果(But in the end if I'm with you.I'll take the chance)。

我比较喜欢大团圆的结局，这首歌里虽然有情人间撕心裂肺的离别之痛，但在结尾处还是给人们留下了希望。这就象当你喝一口浓茶，满口皆苦，但苦过之后却回味甘甜。也许这就是我为什么喜欢这首歌的原因。
